The Downtown Eastside Small Arts Grants was created by the Vancouver Foundation in partnership with the Carnegie Community Centre. The program’s purpose is to provide downtown eastside emerging artists with small grants to support and showcase their work.

I’ve worked with DTES since 2018 to create marketing campaigns for their May–June Emerge Festival. This annual project requires a variety of print and online materials to be designed in order to promote the festival. Deliverables included posters, postcards, bus shelter advertising, a booklet program, as well as digital and social media banners.

Due to 2020 being a social distanced year, I created a gallery website for the program instead to showcase the artists for the 10th Anniversary.

DTES has been one of my Pledge 1% organizations since 2018. I donate 75% or more of the design and campaign work to the organization.

Colleen Keith has been providing fantastic Graphic Designs to the DTES Small Arts Grants Program since 2018. She has provided us with posters, postcards, transit shelter ads, brochures and a virtual art gallery. Colleen is proficient on all of the latest versions of the most cutting edge design software and is always learning new skills. The Artists we support have been impressed with her range of knowledge, her ability to meet tight deadlines and the excellent quality of her work.
