Kinetica was a Success!!
I know I’ve been MIA for awhile, but all the long days, all-nighters and weekends spent with my tablet and laptop were so incredibly worth it as Kinetica was a smashing success and I couldn’t have been happier with how it went! So many of my friends and coworkers attended, the refreshments were organized and delicious, and the interest that has been shown has overwhelmed and humbled me. It has definitely cemented my resolve to make this digital illustration style more a part of my everyday work, and I hope that with your help, I can make that dream a reality!
Please visit the official Kinetica Exhibit page in the Illustration section to see the works that are currently on display at The Hub Sydney gallery. If you see anything you like, know someone who might like it or have an idea for a future project, I would LOVE if you could share it around or contact me with your ideas 🙂
To my family, I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for you. You have supported, pushed, challenged, comforted, encouraged and helped me in more ways than you will ever know. I wouldn’t have the education, skill, motivation and passion to do what I do if you hadn’t been with me every step of the way.
To my friends, international and local, social and professional, you gave me the energy and inspiration to keep going when I was exhausted and had nothing left, at every point in my life. You mean the world to me and I can’t thank you enough.
To my amazing sponsors, Young Henry’s and WineRun (Hubbers Daniel Sofo and Frits Arkema) that stepped up to help me out with this crazy endeavour, I can’t begin to tell you how much your contribution’s helped me get this together. I would recommend your products and people to anyone, and plan to do so!
To my team at The Hub Sydney, specifically Diana McLaren, Andrew Duong and Anfernee Chansamooth, you were behind me the whole way and helped to calm me down so many times when I was going crazy! Honestly couldn’t have pulled it off without you!
To my models and photographers that shared themselves and their work with me, you’re amazing and beautiful, and the show would have been worthless without your contributions. Thank you to Ellie Doyle, Gary Compton, my gorgeous cousin Jordan Clark, Greg Tjepkema, and Ashley Johns.
To my printer, CPL Services in Melbourne, for doing such a BEAUTIFUL job with my pieces, dealing with my revisions last minute and delivering well ahead of time…you are legend!
Lastly, to all the other individuals that stepped up to help me out, either during the hectic weeks before the opening or with feedback on work progress or just with a hug when I needed it most, I love you and you’re everything to me. Thank you to Matthias Boing (most supportive boyfriend of ever), Roz Lawrence (flatmate of the century), Luke McConaghey (design partner-in-crime and amazing door-opener), Shinya Shibusa (epic Sushi chef that fed us all night), James Zed (GoGet driver extraordinaire) Divya Hemnani (my personal emotional and mental sanity coach), Cliff Cunningham (for letting me use his desk all the time) and too many of my fellow Hubbers to name. I feel like you were all part of the whole process, and I can’t imagine having created what I did were you not there for it all!
And finally, a few images from before or during the evening of April 24th 🙂
One last thing…congratulations to the Door Prize winners Miriam, Az Man and Greer! They won either a critter off the wall, a digital file of a large piece OR 30% off a commission 😀 Thanks again for coming!!
